The Strathclyde Police Pipe Band is a grade one pipe band from Glasgow, Scotland. The band was formed in 1883 as the Burgh of Govan Police Pipe Band and was one of the first pipe bands to be formed outside the ranks of the British military. The band's name changed in 1912 to the City Of Glasgow Police Pipe Band, finally evolving into Strathclyde Police Pipe Band in 1975 as a result of local government re-organisation. Today Strathclyde Police are the world's most successful competition pipe band, having won twenty World Pipe Band Championships, eleven championships in the years from 1979 to 1991, and an unrivaled 6 in a row.The band is comprised primarily of serving police officers, but supplements its numbers with community guest players. The Strathclyde Police Pipe Band participates in a wide variety of events throughout the year, providing the opportunity to develop the strong bond that exists between Strathclyde Police and the local community. The pipe band is also in great demand to attend events worldwide and they prove to be excellent ambassadors for Strathclyde Police.

Iain McClellan was the Pipe Major of the Band while they won all of their World's Championships within the last thirty years. Iain is considered by many as one of the greatest competitive Pipe Majors of all time.
