Liverpool UAS

Liverpool University Air Squadron (LUAS) is a University Air Squadron recruiting primarily from the University of Liverpool, John Moores University and the University of Lancaster. Students are also occasionally accepted from other Higher Education institutes throughout North West England (except Greater Manchester).

The squadron was initially founded during the Second World War, in order to provide a source of pilots for the Royal Air Force. Disbanded at the end of the war, the squadron was reformed in the 1950s. The squadron is now based at RAF Woodvale and currently flies the Grob Tutor.
