Caesar Kaluaiku Kapaokinaakea 1815 - 1866 was a Hawaiian chief who was the patriach of the Kalakaua Dynasty, that ruled the Kingdom of Hawaii during the last of its days.

Kapaakea was born in Kuiaha, Maui about 1815. He was son Alii Kamanawa Opio II and Kamokuiki. He was a great grandson of one of the five Kona chiefs who supported Kamehameha the Great in his uprising against Kiwalao, Kame'eiamoku also know as one of the royal twins on the Coat of Arms of Hawaii. His family was relatively of high rank and reputation until it was tarnished in 1840 when his father murdered his mother and was consequently hanged. In the Great Mahele of 1848, he received few lands parceled out to the "ali'i" or high chiefs. [Kahana: How the Land Was Lost By Robert H. Stauffer. Page 61] His siblings were the High Chief Joel Mahoe and the High Chiefess Kekahili.

He married the High Chiefess Analea Keohokalole in 1835. She was of a higher rank than him. They were cousins and their union was consider sacred because of their close blood reltaionship. He and Keohokalole had over 10 children although not many are mention because they died at a very young age. He was father to James Kaliokalani, David Kalakaua, future Hawaiian king, Liliuokalani, future Hawaiian queen, Anna Ka'iulani, Kaiminaauao, Likelike and Leleiohoku. Each of his children were "hanai" or adopted away to different alii families. Liliu was given to Abner Paki and Laura Konia. Kaliokalani was given to his maternal grandfahter Aikanaka. Kalakaua was given to the Chiefess Haaheo. Leleiohoku was given to the Princess Ruth Keelikolani. Ka'iulani was given to the Princess Kekauonohi. Kaiminiaauao was given to Kamehameha III and Queen Kalama. Likelike was given to family in Kona.

He serve as a member of the "House of Nobles" since April 4th, 1845. His wife had been a noble since 1840. He served Kamehameha III, Kamehameha IV and Kamehameha V. His duties was to vote on Laws, work on Kingdom economy, and be advisors to the king. Kapa'akea died in November 13, 1866, aged 51 years, at Honolulu, Oahu. He was laid to rest in the Kalakaua Crypt, Royal Mausoleum of Hawaii [ All about Hawaii.Published 1910. University of Michigan. Page 107]
