The Runyang Bridge (zh-stp|s=润扬长江大桥|t=潤揚長江大橋|p=Rùnyáng Chángjiāng Dàqiáo) is a large
bridge complex that crosses theYangtze River inJiangsu Province,China , downstream ofNanjing . The complex consists of two major bridges that linkZhenjiang on the south bank of the river andYangzhou on the north. The bridge is part of theBeijing-Shanghai Expressway .The south bridge is a
suspension bridge with a main span of convert|1490|m|ft|0. Upon its completion in2005 it became the third longest suspension bridge span in the world and the largest in China. With the opening of theXihoumen Bridge in 2007, it became the second longest span in China, and the fourth longest in the world. The towers are convert|215|m|ft|0 above water level. The two approach spans are not suspended. The main span of the bridge consists of a streamlined orthotropicsteel box girder that is convert|3|m|ft|0 in depth. The width of the deck is convert|39.2|m|ft|0, accommodating 6traffic lanes and a narrow walkway at each outside edge for maintenance. The height clearance for river navigation is about convert|50|m|ft|0.The north bridge is a
cable-stayed bridge with a main span of convert|406|m|ft|0 with towers convert|150|m|ft|0 above water level. In between the two bridges is the island ofSiyezhou .
