Career

In March 1991, NME reported that Northside were appearing at the 'Great Indie Festival - A Midsummer's Day Dream' at Milton Keynes Bowl in June that year. Also on the bill were 808 State, Gary Clail, New Fast Automatic Daffodils, The Shamen, Shades of Rhythm plus Flowered Up.[1]

Their single, "Shall We Take A Trip", was banned by the BBC for its many references to drugs (specifically LSD) but despite the subsequent lack of airplay, it eventually broke into the Top 50 in the UK Singles Chart.[2] On 6 May 2006, BBC 6 Music played this song in its entirety on the Marc Riley show. "Shall We Take A Trip" was also used as Granada Soccer Nights theme tune in the early 1990s.
