Willamar is a census-designated place (CDP) in Willacy County, Texas, United States. It was founded in 1921 and named for its founders, Will Harding and Lamar Gill. The population was 15 at the 2000 census.

Geography

Willamar is located at coor dms|26|25|2|N|97|37|7|W|city (26.417287, -97.618626)GR|1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 2.4 square miles (6.3 km²), all of it land.

Demographics

As of the censusGR|2 of 2000, there were 15 people, 6 households, and 4 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 6.2 people per square mile (2.4/km²). There were 7 housing units at an average density of 2.9/sq mi (1.1/km²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 33.33% White, 66.67% from other races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 100.00% of the population.

There were 6 households out of which 16.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 83.3% were married couples living together, and 16.7% were non-families. 16.7% of all households were made up of individuals and none had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. Willamar is served by the Lyford Consolidated Independent School District.
