This is a list of BR Standard Class 9F steam locomotives that survive in preservation. Eight 9F locomotives are preserved, with six of them being rescued from Woodhams' Scrapyard in Barry, South Wales. The other two were preserved upon withdrawal, with 92220 Evening Star reserved for the National Collection, and 92203 being purchased by the noted artist and conservationist, David Shepherd in 1967. A further locomotive, 92245, is not preserved, but is still extant at Barry Depot,.

92134

Currently under restoration at The Railway Age in Crewe.

92203

92203 was the third 9F built by Swindon in January 1959. When withdrawn after a working life of less than 9 years, it was working the heavy iron ore trains out of Birkenhead Bidston Dock to Shotwick Shotton steelworks, and worked the last steam-hauled ore train in November 1967. The locomotive was purchased straight from BR by the artist David Shepherd. He named her "Black Prince", a name never carried by 92203 in British Railways service. The locomotive is presently based at the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway.

92207

Under restoration, currently at Shillingstone railway station.

92212

No. 92212 was one of the last 9Fs to be built, being turned out from Swindon in September 1959. First allocated to working over the Somerset and Dorset route to Bournemouth, it was transferred to Ebbw Junction, Newport at the end of the summer and then to Tyseley in June 1962. It remained there until October 1966, when it spent its last months at Carnforth. The locomotive was sold to Woodhams' Scrapyard at Barry, where it arrived in January 1968. It was then bought by 92212 Holdings Ltd, and moved to the Great Central Railway at Loughborough in September 1979. Restoration was completed in September 1996, and the engine is currently based at the Mid-Hants Railway, where it is currently dismantled awaiting a boiler inspection.

92214

Now fully operational on the East Lancashire Railway

92219

Stored awaiting restoration at the Midland Railway Centre.

92220 "Evening Star"

92220 was the last steam locomotive built by British Rail, and has for many years been a static exhibit at the National Railway Museum in York.

After being displayed at the "Locomotion" museum at Shildon, County Durham, the engine returned to its birthplace, Swindon Works, on 03 September 2008. "Evening Star" is to be exhibited for two years at the Swindon 'Steam' Railway Museum, during which period the GWR locomotive "King George V" will take its place in York.

92240

Stored awaiting overhaul at the Bluebell Railway.

92245
