The Actors Workshop is a membership based training facility for aspiring and professional actors and is generally associated with R.J. Adams and the Sanford Meisner and Charles Conrad Techniques.

Overview

Founded in Los Angeles in 1976 as a Voice Over recording studio and training center for aspiring Film/Television actors, The Actors Workshop remains one of California’s oldest and most respected acting programs. In 1980 the workshop dropped its voice-over program and began concentrating solely on Film Acting [South County News, September 15, 1991, by Marnie McLoed] . In the first six months the workshop doubled its enrollment and by the following year began attracting the attention some of Hollywood’s top Casting Directors and agents. In early 1990, the workshop added a three camera state of- the- art Television studio. Television and film directors such as Dennis Steinmetz, Richard Compton, Michael O’Herlihy, Ron Stephenson and Corey Allen made regular appearances at the school. [The Orange County Register, November 19, 1991]

Now in its 32nd year, The Actors Workshop remains under the direction of its founder, Film Actor R.J. Adams and his son, actor Rob Adams. It now includes acting workshops in North Hollywood.
