Motive for Movement is a Tulsa, Oklahoma indie rock band that formed in 2005. The band consists of singer and guitarist Deric Williams, guitarist Tobie Munroe, bassist Chris Davis, and drummer Daniel Clark. Their name is often shortened to just "Motive" by their fans. The band has gone through many style shifts since 2005 but consistently combines angular guitar and syncopated drums for a style often described as ambient shoegazing indie rock with Britpop melodic sensibilities.

In Feb. 2008 Motive for Movement announced via myspace they had begun recording their debut full length. The album features guest vocals from Emily Williams (Deric's Wife), Davey Rumsey (The Del Toros) and Cody Clinton (Cody Clinton & the Bishops). The latter also assisted in engineering the vocals for the record. The album, titled “Our Concrete Neighbors” was mixed & mastered by Mike Major (Sparta (band), At the Drive-In, Coheed and Cambria).
