Sam Roman is an American professional wrestler better known as Kid Romeo. Roman is best known for his stint in World Championship Wrestling where he became one half of the first-ever and longest reigning WCW Cruiserweight Tag Team Champions alongside Elix Skipper.

Career

World Championship Wrestling (1999–2001)

After a stint as a male stripper, Roman started wrestling in 1999 in World Championship Wrestling after being trained by Paul Orndorff at the WCW Power Plant. He wrestled as Kid Romeo and was mainly seen on "WCW Saturday Night". In 2000, he was sent to NWA Wildside to gain more experience.

Roman returned in early 2001 and began portraying a character loosely based on Ricky Martin. He soon formed a tag team with Elix Skipper and entered a tournament for the WCW Cruiserweight Tag Team Championship. They won the tournament and the titles at "Greed" and had just begun feuding with Rey Misterio, Jr. and Billy Kidman when WCW was sold to Vince McMahon, the chairman of the World Wrestling Federation. Romeo and Skipper lost the titles to Misterio and Kidman on the final episode of "WCW Monday Nitro".

Independent circuit and Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (2002–2005)

Despite not being hired by the WWF after the purchase of WCW, Roman competed in, and lost, a match against Essa Rios on the February 10 2001 edition of "WWF Jakked". Roman then went on to Puerto Rico to wrestle for the World Wrestling Council. He returned to the U.S. in 2003 and made his Total Nonstop Action Wrestling debut on May 21 as Romeo, competing in a four way match against CM Punk, Jason Cross and Paul London, the latter of whom won the match and became the number one contender to the TNA X Division Championship. From 2003 to 2004, Roman would continue to be used as a jobber, losing to the likes of Raven, Jeff Hardy, Kid Kash and Chris Sabin. During his time with TNA, Roman's only victory was a tag team dark match that saw him and Sonjay Dutt defeat future NWA World Tag Team Champions The Naturals. In addition to TNA, Roman also wrestled in Florida Championship Wrestling for a short time, where he feuded with Tyree Pride before returning to TNA once again as a jobber on February 18 2005, wrestling in a tag team match alongside Mikey Batts against Phi Delta Slam. Since then, Roman hasn't wrestled and has since retired.
