Malaysian Dreamgirl Season 1 (is the first season of Malaysian Dreamgirl) is a reality show hosted by Sazzy Falak, which aims to find the next top fashion model in Malaysia.

The first series featured a cast of 12 contestants.

21-year-old Tey Cindy from Labis, Johor Bahru became the first winner of Malaysian Dreamgirl, driving away a Nissan Latio 1.8Ti (A), a RM10,000 AmBank NexG PrePaid MasterCard, a RM3,000 Wella Professionals hamper, RM1,000 of Escada fragrances, RM1,000 of Bebe apparel, RM500 of Nose footwear, an exclusive cover spread in NewMan magazine and an experience of a lifetime.

"'Auditions

The auditions took place in Putra World Trade Center. The first girl was criticized for wearing a dress with jeans underneath. The next girl was also criticized for her boring and unflattering outfit. The judges thought that one of the girl's face is too young for her age and suggested that she try out for Seventeen Magazine Model Search instead, and also criticized her Bollywood inspired outfit. One of the contestants didn't have top model material but celebrities material, so she was not let through to the next round. One of the semi-finalists even got criticized for coming to the wrong place as her outfit has no style. The last contestant was criticized for her overly sexy outfit and was told that she was not appropriate to be a model. A girl was chewing gum during the audition and thus the judges not impressed at all. Judge Kenny Sia told her to go out and never come in again, but Judge Lim Jimmy told her to go out spit the gum and come back in again. Mun Yee was criticized for not dressing properly such that her bra straps were showing. Judge Lim Jimmy then told her to strike three pose and said that she's a good spokesperson. Based on her bubbly personality, she's let through to the next round. Giselle, a kindergarten teacher, was criticized for wearing blue contact lens as she was Chinese. Giselle got through the next round based on her catwalk.

Adeline, she has past modelling experience for a bakery. Jean is reading pharmacy and was questioned about the purpose of attending the audition. Her response was that she would like to lead a life less-than-ordinary. Jean was the second person to be selected. When Cindy stepped into judging room, her outfit wowed judge Kenny Sia. Nadia stunned the judges for having a nice smile, good features, besides the fact that she swims and skateboards. Alison get through based on her personality and her honesty.

Fiqa is the first one being interviewed, she was told to walk, and introduce herself to the camera, present on how much she wanted to be the Malaysian dreamgirl, and vote for her. Hanis was second to be interviewed, and was asked about her view on the biggest flaw in herself, she answered that it's her nose, but that she's okay with it. She was told that she's too skinny and was jokingly questioned whether she eats or not. She told the judges that her boyfriend didn't want her to be in the competition. Next was Adeline, once again, the judges told her to give a walk, and told her that she need to work out. Adeline was claimed to be poetic as her answer to the question of how much she wants to be in the competition was "deeper than the ocean, and higher than the mountain". Ringo was asked the reason that she enjoys being there, and her reply was that she enjoys being on the camera and she is photogenic. Ringo was asked to describe a saddest moment, to which she told the judges that she doesn't have a saddest moment in her life. She was told to introduce herself instead. Valerie was asked whether it is okay if she was given a makeover, she replied that they can do whatever they want, even shaving her hair off.

Later, the girls were brought to judging room, where the top-twelve finalists will be announced. Jean, Pinky, and Amanda were called to appear together before the judges. Only Jean qualified to run in Malaysian Dreamgirl finals. Jay and Natasha were both fifth to be called, each of them were given comments. Both of them were announced to be in the top-twelve finals. Nadia were criticized for wearing coloured contact lens, however the judges still decided to put her through. Hina, Has and Yuyu were ninth to be called, only Hina got through. Adeline, Ringo and Valerie were all last to be called, Adeline and Valerie were announced to be in the finals, which makes [http://www.cheeserland.com Ringo] the one who had to leave.

Episode 3, 4 & 5

"'The Make-Over

The girls were greeted by Sazzy Falak and were told that Hina had already pulled out from the competition, so [http://www.cheeserland.com Ringo] would be joining them as one of the twelve finalists. There were next shown their official Dreamgirl's vehicles and transported to the "Dreamhouse". Sazzy then introduced them some grooming products, and a RM1,000 worth of AMBank prepaid NexG mastercard were awarded to every contestant.

The next morning, they were brought to a studio which were greeted by Elaine Daly, and asked to share their feelings about Ringo being brought back to the competition. Elaine then starts with the session "I Am A Model", and give them some 101 tips about modelling. Elaine then called the girls one by one to strike a pose.

After the session, Elaine told them that they would be having their first photo shoot, and told them what to bring or not to bring to a photo shoot. Elaine then told them they'll be having a posing challenge in their photo shoot, with two racks of clothes, the first rack, evening wear sponsored by Bebe and another one, sportswear sponsored by Reebok, and shoes sponsored by Nose and Reebok, and were told to have 30 minutes to groom themselves up for the photo shoot.

After the photo shoot, Elaine was surprised that the girls did a pleasant job on the photo shoot, and started judging their photos one by one. After judging, Elaine announced that Natasha won the challenge, the prize was an additional RM500 to her AMBank prepaid NexG mastercard. Then were brought to a salon - Shawn Cutler Hair Salon in Bangsar and had their makeovers done. After the makeovers, Elaine then tell the girls that they'll be having the salon taking care (cut, dyed etc.) of their hairs for one whole year.

"'Women'Secret

The girls received a congratulation letter from Cosmopolitan cosmetics and a parcel of perfume (Moon Sparkle - the latest limited edition fashion fragrance from Escada) awaiting for them on the dining table of their house, and received a call from Sazzy who told them that they'll be having a night out at Bar Savanh Too. The next day, the girls were transported to Simone's Models. They were greeted by Simone, a catwalk instructor, and former Malaysian fashion model to have their catwalk lesson.

On the day after, they were brought to a studio and were greeted by Lim Jimmy, a fashion stylist and taught on how to look presentable in photos and runways. After that, the girls were brought to Capxion Media to have their first competitive photo shoot with the theme "sexy" for Women's Secret lingerie with Kenny Sia. Cindy broke down for not being able to take directions well from the photographer.

The girls were brought to Nose outlet, StudioR, a sports outlet, and Women's Secret Lingerie outlet to shop using their credits in their AMBank prepaid NexG mastercard. After shopping, Jean announced to the other girls that she would be quitting the competition for personal reasons.

After that, the girls were brought to One Utama to have a public fashion show, which was hosted by Elaine Daly and Sazzy Falak. The girls modelled in evening wear, sportswear, casual wear, and nightwear.

When the girls are at home, Eyna announced that she's getting married when the show is over. Then the girls were greeted by Sazzy Falak at the studio, and announced that 3 of the girls were going to be eliminated. They were taken out for dinner at Daine Fay before elimination.

During the elimination session, Sazzy Falak judges their photos - Women'Secret. After judging, Cindy, Alison, Natasha, Jay and Eyna were called to the front because they had the lowest votes among the finalists. Alison, Natasha and Eyna had the bottom three least votes and thus they would be eliminated. However, before Eyna left, Sazzy told her that due to Jean quitting the competition, Eyna could remain in the competition.

"'Precinct 2

Right after elimination, Sazzy Falak announced that the remaining girls would be having a photo shoot all night long at Putrajaya, and told them as a model, they must be ready for anything at any time.

The theme of the photo shoot is precinct, where the girls had to wear men's formal wear with feminine twist and pose with a couch. Cindy was not enthusiastic and complaint about hair style. Jay was praised by the other girls for doing a great photo shoot.

The next day, the girls had a day out at AJ Hackett Kuala Lumpur Urban Flying Fox Park. After that, they received a spa treatment at Spa Indrani.

"'Second Cut

""'Original Airdate: March 27, 2008

The girls were greeted by Elaine Daly at Bertha Gallery Make Up Academy, Berjaya Times Square to have a make up lesson to be taught by Grace. The current finalists were mad at Ringo for a post on her blog before she joined the cast, where she stated that many other semi-finalists should be chose instead of some of the current finalists, but some girls were okay with it.

After the make up demonstration, a make up challenge was posed. The girls had 40 minutes to put on their make up and outfit with the theme "Academy Award" red carpet walk. Hanis won the make up challenge, winning herself a make up set from Make Up Forever and a dinner in Bar Savanh Too Restaurant with Elaine Daly. She was allowed to pick two friends, which she picked Jay and Fiqa to share the dinner prize with her.

The next day, some of the girls went groceries shopping for a barbecue night-out in Genting Highland, but due to rain, the trip was cancelled, so dinner was at the house instead. In the confession session , most of the girls voiced out their thoughts of Cindy being fake and annoying.

The girls were transported to First World Hotel, Genting Highland the next day to have a showcase, hosted by Sazzy Falak. They modelled for the same product as the first showcase which was in One Utama.

During panel session, Sazzy judged each and every contestant's photo - Precinct 2. Valerie's photo was commented to be unmemorable and she looked too cute in the photo. Cindy was criticized for her unversatile profile, as she always looked up. Ringo's look was too cute in her photo too. Eyna, Hanis and Jay had the best photo among the bunch, but Eyna landed in the bottom three along with Valerie and Cindy because they have the lowest votes. Cindy and Eyna were once again saved, and Valerie was eliminated. After the eliminations, Sazzy announced that there was to be another photo shoot the next morning morning at 7 o'clock.

"'White Summer

Malaysian Dreamgirl introduces an opening credit.

The theme of the week's photo shoot is "Soft, Happy and Lively". It was an outdoor group photo shoot, where the girls were divided into two groups, each group with four girls with all-white outfit. The first group was Adeline, Cindy, Eyna and Hanis. Which makes the second group Fiqa, Jay, Nadia and Ringo.

The next day, the girls have a VO training and challenge at Red FM, where the girls were taught to do a radio commercial. After the lesson, the girls had to write their own script and deliver it in 30 seconds. After the recording, the Red FM Crew judged their recordings and picked Cindy as the winner of the challenge. The prize was to be a co-DJ for a day.

"'Third Cut

The girls arrived at Wella, Shah Alam to have a Wella system professional hair spa. After arriving, they were greeted by the manager, Ai Choo who briefly explained what hair spa treatment is, and began asking the girls one by one about their hair condition and solved them. After the treatment, the girls were transported to Bar Savannah to have a night out.

The next day, there was a house call by the official bloggers of Malaysian Dreamgirl.

Later in the week, they were greeted by Lim Jimmy at Bebe Outlet, Pavilion Kuala Lumpur for a fashion challenge. The girls have to pick three items to match whatever existing accessories, handbags and shoes that they're wearing, to impress Lim Jimmy with a total look, which includes hair and make up, with only 5 minutes to shop. The eight girls were sorted into groups of four; Adeline & Jay, Cindy & Hanis, Ringo & Nadia, Fiqa & Eyna. After the shopping, they were transported to the studio, where Lim Jimmy judged each and every outfit, and announced that Nadia is the winner of the challenge, the prize is that she gets to extend her portfolio.

After the photo shoot, Lim Jimmy invited the girls to observed a fashion shoot set, with models from Faces Models and Andrews Models, which he directed.

During panel, Sazzy judged each and every contestant's photo - White Summer. Eyna once again had the best pictures among the bunch but was in the bottom three along with Jay and Fiqa. Eyna was eliminated. After elimination, Sazzy announced that there will be a photo shoot the next day, and told them to be ready at 7.30am.

Malaysian Dreamgirl introduces an extend version of the opening credit.

The theme of this week's photo shoot is "Hair" for Wella Professionals, it is a close up shot. Before the photo shoot started, Elaine Daly told the girls that they would not be directed, but after seeing Fiqa and Cindy struggles in the photo shoot, Elaine Daly gave them suggestions. Adeline rocked the photo shoot even though she was not feeling well.

After the photo shoot, the girls had a visit to Celebrity Fitness. They were greeted by Sazzy Falak and one of Celebrity Fitness' personal trainer, Vinto, who guided them through. After the workout, they were greet by Jeff, a yoga instructor, who gave them yoga lessons on basic moves.

At home, Cindy's dad told her on the phone that Hanis and Fiqa were talking behind her back, spilling negatives things about her, and it is unfair for her, especially when the public do not know her and hence would not vote for her.

"'Fourth Cut

The girls attended a fitting session for Malaysian International Fashion Awards (MIFA) by Malaysian Fashion Designer, Karl Ng. Karl asked the girls to describe their personal style. After that, Karl announced that they would be modeling his collection the following week with the theme of black fusion little dresses with a mix and match of funky style batik, then he handpicked each of their outfit for the fashion show. After that, Karl told the girls to practice on their catwalks, and picked Ringo as his muse, because she was too short to carry some of his dress.

The next day, Nadia went for a fashion photo shoot to expand her portfolio as she won the challenge last week. Later that evening, the girls had a "heart to heart" session with Elaine Daly, where she asked every girl to share their experiences so far in the Malaysian Dreamgirl competition. When Nadia said that she is being abandoned by the girls, they responded that Nadia talked too much and was over confident all the time; Ringo talked about her depression; Hanis apologized for hurting other people's feelings and for being too outspoken; Cindy also apologized for being loud and selfish. She was even told to try and consider other people feelings, and for not helping out in the kitchen.

At the panel session, Sazzy judged every contestant's photo - Wella Inspiration. Sazzy added saying that it was the most disappointing week throughout the competition. Cindy and Adeline is criticized for not knowing their face angles well. She added that since the first photo shoot, Adeline's face appeared blank in the photos. Hanis' pictures were too 'safe' since the first photo shoot, and Jay's too strong. Nadia was commented for being too posy, emotional and not easy to work with. Fiqa finally improved in her photo, but she landed in the bottom three along with Adeline and Nadia. Fiqa was eliminated. After elimination, Sazzy reminded them of the Malaysian International Fashion Awards (MIFA) on the next day.

"'Savanh Too

The girls were greeted by runway coach Simone Teh and Malaysian fashion designer, Karl Ng for a rehearsal for the Malaysian International Fashion Week 2008. Simone choreographed the girls' catwalks.

After the rehearsal, the girls were transported to their photo shoot set in Savanh Too, Mont Kiara. The girls modelled for Malaysian fashion designer, Carven Ong's batik inspired haute couture. Nadia struggled in the photo shoot.

The next day was the launch for the Malaysian International Fashion Week 2008, held at The Gardens, Mid Valley. Some of the girls were envious of Jay and Hanis for booking four jobs whereas the others only managed to book one or two jobs.

"'Fifth Cut

""'Original Airdate: April 17, 2008

The girls were transported to NTV7 Studio for " The Breakfast Show" with Elaine Daly and JP. The show started off with JP asking the dreamgirls to introduce themselves. The second segment was about JP interviewing the girls about their feelings toward the modeling industry and their lessons learnt so far in the competition.

Later, the girls were transported to Celebrity Fitness for a kick boxing session. Then they were brought to the Sunway Lagoon Theme Park to experience the AJ Hackett G Force.

The girls received a challenge by judge Kenny Sia. Before that Kenny told the girls that Malaysian Dreamgirl had made it to the Malaysia Book of Records. The challenge was an impromptu fashion show, such that in 30 minutes, the girls have to do their make up, and prepare three sets of clothing: swim wear from Speedo, Bebe, own evening wear. Hanis, who would have been one of the winners, was disqualified for slowing the other contestants down. Nadia, Jay, and Adeline won the challenge, winning themselves a go-see in all the top modeling agencies around Kuala Lumpur.

The next morning, the girls went to Pasar Besar Taman Tun to buy groceries, as they would be having four special guests that evening, Jonathan Putra, Kenny, Hanson and Ash. They had some ice-breakers after dinner.

The girls were transported to CoChine Lounge and Restaurant the next evening to have dinner with Sazzy Falak. Following dinner was elimination session. At the panel session, Sazzy judged every contestant's photo taken in Savanh Too. Sazzy noted that there is no improvement in Cindy, but compared to her previous photos, her face expressions were much better. Adeline and Jay managed to pulled high fashion photos but they landed in bottom three with Nadia, who looked uncomfortable in her photo. Jay was supposed to be eliminated, but was given a second chance to prove herself. Sazzy announced that in the following week, three contestants would be eliminated.

The girls were transported to the studio to have their sixth photo shoot where the girls have to model for VonJolly's batik. Sazzy added that this will be an artistic shoot that there is two students from LimKokWing University will be editing the graphics of the photos. During the photo shoot, Sazzy said that she was quite disappointed with some of the girls because they were giving the same facial expression.

The next day, the girls have a visit to Carven, Academy of Fashion. The girls were brought there to see and learn how is a dress made. The girls were transported back to the Dreamhouse and was greeted by Malaysian actress, Melissa Maureen, where the girls have to do a commercial for Escada Moon Sparkle. The commercial was divide into two groups, the first group were Cindy, Jay and Nadia; the second group were Adeline, Hanis and Ringo. During the commercial, Hanis was supposed to hand the Escada bottle to Nadia, but Nadia was complaining that Hanis didn't hand in properly and said that Hanis is messing this up for her. Hanis did the same thing for the second take. At the third, Hanis didn't want to make this a big deal, so she told Ringo to hand the Escada bottle to Nadia instead. At the end of the commercial, Melissa picked Adeline as the winner, winning herself a RM1000 worth of Escada Fragrance.

"'Sixth Cut

Adeline, Jay and Nadia had their go-see this week. The first modeling/casting agency is Andrews Models, where they were greeted by owner of Andrews Models, Andrew Tan and Elaine Daly. They start off with filling up an application form, then their measurements, and a model mug shot. Then Andrew looked at each of their portfolios, and start off with Adeline, and said that she had a good chance of being a high fashion model, a commercial model and a runway model, Andrew then added besides being successful in the modeling industry, she also can be successful in the acting industry for her ability of speaking multiple language like Mandarin and Cantonese fluently. Nadia was praised for her versatility. As for Jay, Andrew said that she has runway potential, and her face suits only for fashion editorial shoot, but not too much for commercial. Then the girls were greeted by Tinie, one of Malaysia's Top Model, and told the girls how she was started in the modeling industry. Besides Adeline, Jay and Nadia, Andrew added that he thought Hanis has a great potential in modeling too.

After the go-see, the girls had a beauty session at Praise Slimming & Beauty Professionals, where the girls have gold patches for anti-aging. Back at the Dreamhouse, the girls were greeted by Sazzy Falak that they will be a challenge. Before the challenge, Sazzy told them to paired up. Where Adeline paired up with Ringo; Cindy paired up with Nadia; and Jay paired up with Hanis. Each team were given 15 minutes to complete two tasks, the first task is to go to the laptop that there is fifteen pictures of local and international models, and the girls were given fifteen names to fill up for the fifteen local and international models, to test who they know well in the fashion industry. After they complete the first task, the girls have to open the brown envelop that is on the dining table and read the piece of paper, then go upstairs and take a picture of each other of what is told to do what is written on the piece of paper. The first team to do the challenge is Jay and Hanis, their second task was to do "startled". The second team to do the challenge is Cindy and Nadia, and their second task was to do "hideous", and the final team to do the challenge is Adeline and Ringo, and their second task was to do "innocent". The challenge won by Jay and Hanis, and the prize was an additional credit to the winning team AMBank prepaid NexG mastercard. After the challenge, the girls were transported to Spa Indrani to do a spa treatment. Later, were transported to Celebrity Fitness to work out.

At the panel session, Sazzy judged every contestant's photo - Couture Batik. Adeline's photo is too commercial and no high fashion at all; Hanis has the best photo for the first time; Ringo's photo is too bland this week. After judging, Sazzy called their names two by two, where one of the girls will be saved, another will be out. The first two girls were Cindy and Nadia, Nadia was sent home first. The second two girls were Hanis and Jay, Jay was sent home second. The last two girls were Adeline and Ringo, Ringo was sent home. Which makes the final three, Cindy, Hanis and Adeline.

The girls were transported to the studio to have their last photo shoot challenge with Lim Jimmy coaching them. After the photo shoot, the girls were transported to Shawn Cutler opening ceremony. Then the girls were transported back at the studio and was greeted by Malaysian Independent Director, Producer and Actor, Zack Kamal to give them a crash course on acting. After the session, the girls have a mini acting challenge with Zack. Adeline won the challenge, winning herself five extra invites to the grand finale of Malaysian Dreamgirl.

Episode 17

"'Grand Finale

""'Original Airdate: May 3, 2008

This episode starts off with a rehearsal for the grand finale by the top-12 finalists (except for Jean) at Tangoo. Later were transported to the studio to rehearsed on their dancing performance, which was choreographed by Dennis Yin, runner-up of So You Think You Can Dance.

The next day is the Grand Finale which was held in One Utama Shopping Complex. Dennis opens the show with a break dance, then with Elaine Daly giving a short speech, and the finale catwalk and performances by the finalists. After the performance by the finalists, Elaine then invite Ash Nair, former contestant of Malaysian Idol Season 2, and performed "Crazy" from his debut album, "Chameleon".

Then the finalists have a fashion showdown modeling clothes by Winnie Loo, VonJolly, Carl Ng and Carven Ong. Then Elaine invites her fellowed judges, fashion stylist Lim Jimmy and celebrity blogger Kenny Sia to talks about the show, and then invite Jared Solomon, CEO of Capxion Media and creator of Malaysian Dreamgirl, and once again announced that Malasian Dreamgirl is in The Malaysian Book of Records, and invite Ricky Yap, representative of The Malaysia Book of Records to give a certificate to Jared Solomon, followed by Solomon giving a short speech, and announced that they will be a "bigger, better, and more exciting" second season.

The grand finale closes with another finale catwalk by the finalists, and finally announced the 2nd runner-up, runner up and the winner.

Later only some of them were transported back to the Dreamhouse; where Alison questioned Cindy whether she deserve to win this or not; Valerie clearing up the rumors which was all over blogs in Malaysia where she back-stabbed Cindy during the show; Fiqa apologizes about the Reebok shoe incident; Ringo clearing up for some comments in her blog where she's being unappreciative to her supporters; and Adeline, Natasha and Ringo talks about during the finale runway, where Adeline nearly fell down because her dress was too long and Natasha and Ringo messed up the walk.
