Aware (voluntary organisation)

Aware is a voluntary organisation in the Republic of Ireland which aims to assist people affected by depression.

It was founded in 1985 [cite web|url=http://www.oireachtas.ie/documents/committees29thdail/jcastrag/jcastrcga180204.rtf|title=Joint Committee on Arts, Sport, Tourism, Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs 18 February 2004|publisher=Houses of the Oireachtas (Parliament of Ireland)|accessdate=2008-03-05|format=rtf|date=2004-02-18] and provides support groups for sufferers and relatives of those who suffer from depression as well as providing a helpline and fundraising. In recent years a walk around Dublin Bay has been held to raise money.
