Irricana is a town in southern Alberta, Canada. It is located in the wide-open spaces of the Canadian prairies, km to mi|53 northeast of Calgary, and west of the Drumheller badlands off Highway 9.

The name of the town is an acronym of "irrigation canals", which are found around the Irricana area. The closest neighbouring village is Beiseker. Irricana is surrounded by the Municipal District of Rocky View.

Due to Irricana's close proximity to the sprawling cities of Calgary and Airdrie developers are seriously looking at creating subdivisions in an area where land can be purchased at a more reasonable cost, thus passing on the savings to new residents.

A new subdivision may be established in 2008, including 142 residential lots, 1 multifamily and 1 large commercial lot.

As well, plans in 2008 may be to start development on an 80 acre parcel adjacent to Highway 9. Also, another developer is interested in developing a large parcel west of Town which would include an 18 hole golf course, convention hotel, seniors housing, and also various types of mixed housing.

Previously a village, Irricana was incorporated as a town on June 9, 2005 (effective date: Sept 1, 2005).
