Sarbel and Barbe

Saints Sarbel and Barbe, or Sarbelius and Barbea, (died 101 A.D.) are early second century Christian martyrs venerated by the Roman Catholic Church and Eastern Orthodox Church. Sarbel was a high priest at Edessa in Mesopotamia; Barbe was his sister. They were tortured and killed for converting to Christianity under the Roman emperor Trajan. Their feast day is January 29.
