"Anthems for the Damned" is the fourth studio album by American industrial rock band Filter. History

This album marks Filter's first studio project since "The Amalgamut" in 2002. Shortly after that release, the band abruptly stopped touring and lead singer Richard Patrick checked himself into rehab, putting the band on hiatus. Patrick then began to explore other creative endeavors like recording songs with The Damning Well in 2003. When that collaboration was completed, Patrick returned to work on the next Filter album. This would allow him to express some of his feelings about the current state of the world and the current state of his life. In May 30, 2008, the band released a "Soldiers of Misfortune" promo video clip through MTV.com, the license restricted MTV.com from playing the video outside the U.S., but the video quickly spread through the web and is now available worldwide on the band's official website and YouTube.

As of June, the second single "What's Next" began receiving radio play.

"Anthems for the Damned" is a dose of heavy industrial, soaring anthems, and heavy soundscapes.
