Olympic Plaza and City Hall are stops in downtown Calgary on the city's C-Train light rail system. Before July 2011, the Olympic Plaza stop (formerly named 1 Street Southeast until 1988, when it got its new name from the site of the awards ceremony for the 1988 Winter Olympics directly across from the station) was only used by westbound trains and the City Hall stop was used by eastbound trains. Platforms for the stations are located on the sides of 7th Avenue South, near the intersection with Macleod Trail.

Notable buildings located near the station include City Hall, Calgary Police Headquarters, the provincial court, the EPCOR Centre for the Performing Arts, the main branch of the Calgary Public Library, and Olympic Plaza .

The station registered an average of 9,700 and 11,800 weekday boardings in 2005 (for City Hall and Olympic Plaza respectively).^[1]

7 Avenue Refurbishment

The Olympic Plaza platform is one of three downtown platforms slated for decommissioning as part of Calgary Transit's Seventh Avenue refurbishment. A new platform for northwest-bound Line 201 and westbound Line 202 is being constructed immediately across from the existing City Hall platform, concurrently with that platform's reconstruction, by 2011. The City Hall station has been closed on May 3, 2010 to allow this construction^[2].

The City Hall station reopened on July 6, 2011 for the Stampede, at which time the Olympic Plaza platform was closed. The south platform was re-closed for further construction until September 19, 2011, at which time the south platform officially opened.^[3]
