----A Waxed jacket is a type of hip-length raincoat iconic of British country life. It is commonly worn for outdoor rural pursuits such as hunting, shooting and fishing. It is a cotton jacket made water-resistant by waxing, typically with a tartan lining and a corduroy or leather collar.

The most well-known manufacturer of waxed jackets is J. Barbour & Sons and Raithby Country Clothing. Other manufacturers, less well known outside the United Kingdom, include Royal Scot, Musto and Puffa.
