General Election

Massachusetts is considered one of the most reliably Democratic states in Presidential elections, voting for the Democratic nominee in every election since 1960 except for Ronald Reagan's landslide elections of 1980 and 1984. In 1972, only Massachusetts and the District of Columbia voted for Senator George McGovern as Richard Nixon won reelection.
