The 2007 Leilehua Mules football team is the DI HHSAA State football Champ. Leilehua Mules football team represents the Leilehua High School in Wahiawa, Hawaii. 2007 Leilehua Mules football team is represented by OIA-RED conference, WEST division and it was coached by Nolan Tokuda.

2007 Recap

Like all other teams, the Mules had their eyes aiming at the OIA-Red and State Titles. However, the Mules finished their regular 2007 season schedule with 4-4 (3-3) record, everyone assumed it was it. Barely making the cut to qualify the OIA Playoff, the Mules surprised everyone when they knocked out the top-seeded, arch rival Mililani Trojans during the quarter-final and beating another arch rival Waianae Sea Riders for the OIA-Red Title. But despite the victory over other power houses including Baldwin Bears (Maui Champ) during the Semi-Final of the State Playoffs, when Leilehua Mules made it to the final game of the playoff of the HHSAA State Championship facing against the power house Saint Louis Crusaders. The Crusaders were heavily favor to win the title against the Mules. Despite the odds, the Mules played their best and stole the hope for the title from Crusaders when Leilehua DB Micah Cruz intercepted St. Louis QB Micah Mamiya's Hail Mary pass.

*Mules finished with 4-4 (3-3) in their regular schedule. Barely qualified, the Mules are 5th seeded team from west.
*The Mules lost both starting QB (Kaipo Kea and Kaipo DeRego) after the game against Castle Knights for the Wild Card round of the OIA playoff, which forces Head Coach Nolan Takuda to pull Sophomore QB Andrew Manley from JV and lead the team to victory against the 1st seeded west team, arch rival Mililani Trojans in Quarter-Final.
*The Mules defeated Farrington Govs in Semi-Final and then moved on to play its another arch rival Waianae Sea Riders in OIA Championship which the Mules won for the first time since 1984.
*The Mules defeated Maui's MIL Champion, Baldwin Bears, in the Semi-Final round of the State Championship and moved on to play the top ranked, ILH Champion, undefeated St. Louis Crusaders.
*The Mules pulled an upset by defeating St. Louis, 20-16 for State Championship at the Aloha Stadium with more than 15,000 fans. Leilehua won the HHSAA State Title for the first time since 1984. The Mules finished its season with 10-4 overall record.
