French corvette Vénus (1794)

The "Vénus" was a 26-gun corvette of the French Navy.

Launched as "Vengeance", she was renamed in December 1795. She took part in the Expédition d'Irlande and in the Battle of Tory Island.

On 22 October 1800, she was captured by HMS "Indefatigable" and HMS "Fisgard". Shw was subsequntly recommissioned in the Royal Navy as HMS "Scout".

She was wrecked on the Isle of Wight on 25 March 1801.
