The Bavarian International School (BIS) is an international school based in Haimhausen, Bavaria, Germany. The school is a non-profitable organization that has a particularly small student population, comparing to other neighboring international schools, such as Vienna International School, American International School of Salzburg and Munich International School.
The school is split into 3 parts: Upper School (also known as High School), Middle School (Junior High) and Lower School (Elementary School) that includes Reception (Kindergarten). The principals of the school divisions are Julie Hessler, Simon Walker, and Kathy Slocombe, respectively. The current director is Bryan Nixon.
In the autumn, BIS sponsors football and volleyball as their main extra-curricular activities. In the winter, basketball and Alpine skiing are the main activities and, in the spring, track and field and girls' softball are the main events.
