Sharky and George

Sharky and George

"Sharky and George" (original name: "Sharky et Georges") was a French children's TV cartoon from 1992. It was translated to English and shown on Sky Channel and Channel 4 in the United Kingdom, RTÉ Two in Ireland, RTV Politika in Serbia and Cartoon Network in Scandinavia. It was also translated to Spanish and shown on RTP (later renamed to TNP, currently TV Perú) in Peru, possibly in other Latin American countries too.

"Sharky and George" was a humorous show about two fish private detectives, set in the underwater city of Seacago. Sharky, the bigger fish, is a pink shark, has a huge nose, and wears a Humphrey Bogart -style fedora hat. George, the smaller fish, is blue with a yellow face, and looks noticeably younger than Sharky.

The show has a catchy theme song, with the chorus "Sharky and George - the crime busters of the sea/Sharky and George - clear up any mystery".

The cartoon was made by the Canadian animation company CinéGroupe who were also responsible for the cartoon Ovide and the Gang.
