Sutton Coldfield is a borough constituency represented in the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. It elects one Member of Parliament (MP) by the first past the post system of election.

Boundaries

The constituency covers the northern part of the City of Birmingham district in the West Midlands. It corresponds to the former borough of Sutton Coldfield.

History

Sutton Coldfield is one of the Conservative Party's safest seats in Britain, having held it since its formation in 1945. The current member of Parliament is Andrew Mitchell, former MP for Gedling in Nottinghamshire, who replaced the former Cabinet minister Sir Norman Fowler in 2001.
