Oregon, United States. The population was 1,008 at the 2000 census. The center of populationof Oregon is located in Lyons [http://www.census.gov/geo/www/cenpop/statecenters.txt] .

According to the
United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.9 square miles (2.2 km²), all of it land.
As of the
censusGR|2 of 2000, there were 1,008 people, 372 households, and 296 families residing in the city. The population densitywas 1,165.8 people per square mile (452.5/km²). There were 395 housing units at an average density of 456.8/sq mi (177.3/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 93.06% White, 1.79% Native American, 0.20% Asian, 0.20% Pacific Islander, 0.79% from other races, and 3.97% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.69% of the population.
There were 372 households out of which 31.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 66.4% were married couples living together, 7.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 20.4% were non-families. 14.0% of all households were made up of individuals and 4.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.71 and the average family size was 2.94.
In the city the population was spread out with 25.8% under the age of 18, 7.7% from 18 to 24, 25.3% from 25 to 44, 28.4% from 45 to 64, and 12.8% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 39 years. For every 100 females there were 100.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 99.5 males.
