Early work

Williams has said that after reading a copy of the Uncanny X-Men issue 272 with art by Jim Lee, he was inspired to become a comic book artist from the age of 15. While attending the 2005 San Diego Comic-Con Williams submitted a portfolio to the DC talent search. As a result he was hired to do a Seven Soldiers issue featuring Mister Miracle, and some fill in issues for Aquaman.
