Flintshire County Council is the governing body of the principal area of Flintshire (not historic Flintshire), one of the administrative subdivisions of Wales.
As of 2008 the council is governed by an all-party administration. Non partisans make up the largest grouping within the council followed by Labour, The Liberal democrats, the Conservatives and then Plaid Cymru.
The political composition of the council is as follows.
Electoral divisions
The county borough is divided into 57 electoral wards returning 70 councillors. Few communities in Flintshire are coterminous with electoral wards. The following table lists council wards, communities and associated geographical areas. Communities with a community council are indicated with a '*':
