Stephen Wayne Mintz (born November 24, 1968 in Wilmington, North Carolina) is a retired Major League Baseball pitcher and current pitching coach in the Minnesota Twins organization. He was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 17th round of the by|1990 amateur draft, and played during two seasons at the major league level for the San Francisco Giants and Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. Upon his retirement from pitching mid-way through the by|2001 season, he spent the second-half of the 2001 season as pitching coach for the Angels' short-season minor league teams. Mintz played his first professional season with the Dodgers' Class A (Short Season) Yakima Bears in by|1990, and his last with Anaheim's Triple-A Salt Lake Stingers in by|2001.

Coaching career

Mintz's first job in the Twins organization was with the Gulf Coast League Twins from by|2002 through by|2005. From there, he was promoted to pitching coach for the Midwest League Beloit Snappers. After two seasons with the Snappers, Mintz was promoted again; this time, to the Double-A New Britain Rock Cats.
