In the 2006-08 session, Connors served on the Senate's State Government Committee and the Community & Urban Affairs Committee.

Senator Connors announced in January 2007 that he would be retiring and would will not be a candidate in 2007. Connors served in the New Jersey General Assembly where he also represents the 9th District, and succeeded him in the Senate in 2008.

District 9

Each of the forty districts in the New Jersey Legislature has one representative in the New Jersey Senate and two members in the New Jersey General Assembly. The other representatives from the 9th Legislative District are:
*Assemblyman Christopher J. Connors, and
*Assemblyman Brian E. Rumpf
