Alternatives to marriage project

"Alternatives To Marriage Project" (AtMP) is an American non-profit organization. It was founded in April 1998 by Dorian Solot and Marshall Miller, an unmarried couple in Boston, Massachusetts.

The mission of this advocacy organization is to support and defend the legal and civil rights of unmarried persons and their significant others, and to work for equality and fairness for domestic partners. AtMP provides information, resources and support for unmarried couples, those couples who cannot legally marry (such as gays or lesbians) or those couples who have no wish to marry. The organization also works to fight discrimination against unmarried persons and those who are living together or in an intimate relationship outside of marriage.

Membership is open to all persons regardless of marital status.
