The Machine is one of the oldest U.S.
Pink Floyd tribute bands. Formed in 1988by Todd Cohen and Joe Pascarell, the band has performed many shows around the world. "Spin" magazine noted that The Machine "sounds exactly like Pink Floyd"cite web|url=http://www.themachinelive.com/about/|title=About the Band|publisher=The Machine Live|accessdate=2008-07-16]
The Machine's performances deliver both faithful renditions and reworked interpretations of classic Pink Floyd. "Guitar One" magazine noted, "You know you've got it going on when you sell out B.B. King's in New York City and Roger Waters' sax player jams with you." (
Roger Waters' touring sax player, Norbert Stachel, has performed with The Machine.) The Machine is known for performing some of Pink Floyd's lesser known material, including fan favorites such as "Fearless" and " Interstellar Overdrive".
