Buffum's

Buffum's

Buffum's was a chain of Long Beach, California based department stores founded in 1904. It grew slowly over the years to a total of 16 stores throughout Los Angeles, Orange and San Diego counties.

The chain was bought in the 1970's by Australia-based Adelaide Steamship Co, who looked to sell the struggling chain in the 1980's. Adelaide never found a buyer and liquidated the chain in March 1991.
