Grande Prairie Smoky is an Alberta provincial electoral district, located in northwestern Alberta.

The riding was created in 1993 when the old Grande Prairie riding was split in this riding and Grande Prairie Wapiti. Under the Alberta electoral boundary re-distribution of 2004, the constituency includes the northern half of the city of Grande Prairie and the surrounding areas to the east of the city. Its border with Grande Prairie-Wapiti within the city is Richmond Avenue and the Canadian National Railway. Clockwise from Grande Prairie Wapiti, the constituency also borders Dunvegan-Central Peace, Lesser Slave Lake, Barrhead-Morinville-Westlock, Whitecourt-Ste. Anne and West Yellowhead. Other major towns include Fox Creek, Sexsmith and Valleyview.

The current MLA for this district is Progressive Conservative Mel Knight. He won re-election in the district in the 26th Alberta general election.

2004 Student Vote

On November 19, 2004 a Student Vote was conducted at participating Alberta schools to parallel the 2004 Alberta general election results. The vote was designed to educate students and simulate the electoral process for persons who have not yet reached the legal majority. The vote was conducted in 80 of the 83 provincial electoral districts with students voting for actual election candidates. Schools with a large student body that reside in another electoral district had the option to vote for candidates outside of the electoral district then where they were physically located.
