The Squaw Man (1914), also known as "The White Man" in the UK, was the first feature-length movie made specifically in Hollywood (although not the first to be made in the Los Angeles area). Originally a 1906 stage play produced and directed by and starring [amg movie|id=1:111518|title=William Faversham] William Faversham, the title went on to become the only movie successfully filmed three times by the same producer-director, the legendary Cecil B. DeMille in his first assignment. He helmed another silent version in 1918, and a talkie remake in 1931.
