village in south-western Finland, centred around "Lake Littoinen" ("Littoistenjärvi" in Finnish). The village is shared between thetown ofKaarina and the municipalities ofLieto andPiikkiö , and it borders the regional centre ofTurku . It started growing after the founding of abroadcloth factory by Lake Littoinen in1739 , and therailway connection built in1899 increased its growth.
