Global Shop Solutions

Global Shop Solutions is an Enterprise Resource Planning software (ERP) company that targets small to medium sized manufacturers, job shops, or make-to-order companies. Located in The Woodlands, Texas, Global Shop Solutions also has offices in Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, Dallas, Denver and Detroit, and serves customers in a variety of industries throughout the United States, Canada, South America, and Australia. Global Shop Solutions software is premised on the "real-time" analysis of cross-operation manufacturing data to facilitate cost accounting, inventory management, production scheduling, and on-time delivery. ERP Functions

Founded in 1976 by Dick Alexander, the progression of upgrades of the company's ERP software has always been based upon established Lean Manufacturing (and Six Sigma) manufacturing principles such as continuous improvement (Kaizen) and just-in-time manufacturing (Kanban). In these approaches, the goal is to reduce all possible waste in the system. Such waste might be found in non-value added labor, inefficiency in production (including set-up and break-down times), excessive or obsolete inventory maintenance, and raw material flow (including scrap). For this reason, Global Shop Solutions ERP software is often used as a supply chain tool in the development of Value Stream Mapping for manufacturers. Key industries employing Global Shop Solutions ERP software are found in aerospace and defense, consumer products, heavy industry, metal and plastics fabrication, electronics, and medical instruments industries.
