1992 AFL Grand Final

The 1992 AFL Grand Final was an historic Grand Final which took place on September 26, 1992 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground between AFL clubs Geelong and West Coast. West Coast won the match by 28 points and in doing so became first premiers from outside Victoria. It was attended by a crowd of 95007 people.

Match Summary

The day Victorian footy fans had dreaded, as the cherished premiership cup headed west, safe in the hands of Eagles coach Mick Malthouse, skipper John Worsfold, Norm Smith Medal winner Peter Matera and their Eagles teamates. Geelong was the villain of the piece, going down by 28 points, after leading by two goals at half-time.
