Toshigami

Toshigami

nihongo|Toshigami|年神 is a god or kami of the Shinto religion in Japan. Toshigami is derived from two Chinese figures, "toshi" meaning the year and "kami" meaning a god or spirit. Toshigami is a god of the year, believed to come in the new year, having brought the new year with him. Toshigami are also thought of as ancestors.
