Bindubasini

There are two schools in Tangail, a district of Bangladesh, named as "Bindubasini":

* Bindubasini Government Boys' High School
* Bindubasini Government Girls' High School

One for boys only education and other for girls only. Both were established in the late 19th century and was patroned by the Jamindars of Santosh, Tangail and named after one of them - LandLady Bindubasini. Lately the Jamindars (landlords) were unable to run them and the government of Bangladesh took the charge of these schools.

Both school are prominent and prestigious among the schools surrounding its area. From the very beginning of its establishment, both schools gained fame throughout the entire bengal and produced many nationally renowned people. These schools are one of the few schools of Bangladesh which has already celebrated their 100 and 125 years completion.

Today, even a lot of students from these two schools are joining Prestigious universities and institutes to serve the nation with great enthusiaism.Students from these school gain good result and the high rate of gaining highest GPA in SSC (Secondary School Certification ) examinations is one of the causes of their reputation.

Bindubasini Boys' teach from class 6 to 10 while Bindubasini Girls' start it from class 1 and up to 10.Both schools are double shift (morn and day). In each shift 2 section for each class is conducted. Bindubasini Girls' teach primary level(classes 1~5) in morn shift only. There are 60~80 student in each section taught in these schools.
