The Weekender ceased production on 16 May 1980.[3] From 6 June 1984 to 13 February 1985, the paper was known as the Salisbury, Elizabeth, Gawler Messenger. The News Review named was revived from 20 February 1985, with the paper re-named the News Review Messenger.
