The Superinteressante (a.k.a "Super" or "Super Interessante") is a Brazilianscientific andcultural magazine, known by its simple language focusing on the general public. Its name is equivalent to "Super-Interesting", in English. It is monthly published since September of 1987 byEditora Abril and its main competitor is the "Galileu Magazine", published byEditora Globo .History
In 1987, the
Editora Abril bought the copyrights of the Spanish magazine "Muy Interesante " to only "export" its reportings to Brazil, making the translation. But the magazine's team discovered that theEurope an impression machines weren't adequate to fit the Brazilian printing standard, so they decided to make their own articles. Nowadays, it's Superinteressante that sells its articles to other magazines.The magazine first publishing was in a little magazine with less than twenty pages (called "Edition 0"), with low importance to the main magazine, that was sold as a gift with other magazines. The first edition had a magazine's normal size and was about
superconductivity and was a huge success and sold out in two weeks.Nowadays, the magazine is the most influential (in Brazil) of its gender, with its own website, DVDs and a subdivision magazine called "
