Fooling April is an American pop/rock band formed in June 2002. They have written and performed songs that have appeared on National Television networks such as ABC and QVC.

History

The band formed in June 2002 when Philadelphia native, Brian Kenneth Anderson recruited Kevin Emery, Rado Randriamamonjy and Vincent Powell to form a quartet around Anderson's original material. The group quickly became collaborative as the four wrote several new songs for multiple demo EPs. The band underwent many changes at the guitar and drum positions. Matthew Ensminger replaced Vincent Powell on April 17, 2004. Tommy "Kay" Krystkiewicz replaced Rado Randriamamonjy on October 28, 2005 on guitar. The band had links to Clear Channel/Live Nation/Electric Factory Concerts who helped see the band to increased exposure by allowing them to open for major acts such as John Mayer, Dido, Ari Hest, Fastball, and many others.

With the release of the band's first LP, "Every Good Boy Does Fine" (Released December 2004 and engineered and produced in part by Grammy Award Winner, Phil Niccolo, and in part by bassist from The Figgs, Pete Donnelly), the single "Firefly" spent 3 months at #1 on Clear Channel's unsigned charts listing the band on the websites of over 450 of their radio stations and included some terrestrial radio airplay. This caught the attention of Fluid Media Networks, the force behind the reality phenomenon American Idol. With the launch of their online band competition, Fooling April quickly became the "poster band" for American Idol Underground appearing on FOX television and in American Idol the Magazine.

With the release of the band's second LP Release, "In the Now" (April 2007) the band would see increased national exposure. The first single, "The Way Back Down", appeared on an episode of ABC's "All My Children" in July of 2007 being played in its entirety during a climactic montage in the shows storyline. Fooling April also appeared on QVC on December 25, 2007 with a taped appearance of their original Holiday song, "Every Single Christmas".
