Irony of Fate 2 or The Irony of Fate: Continuation ( _ru. Ирония судьбы: Продолжение) is a fy|2007 Russian romantic comedy film directed by Timur Bekmambetov based on a screenplay by Alexey Slapovskiy produced by Channel One and released by Mosfilm. Film budget - $5,000,000. It is at once a sequel and a remake of the first Irony of Fate.

First press release about the plans to create a sequel went after the 30 years jubilee of the previous picture, in 2005.

Plot summary

Characters of the first film now have children, who managed to get into the same situation as their parents many years ago.

* Film is heavy packed by product placement by Nokia, Toyota, Calve, Beeline, Aeroflot, Faberlic and even the vodka brand Russian Standart
* Almost every frame of the film emphatically uses the combination of red and blue (wineglasses on the table, New Year's Tree decorations, the red door of the flat with a blue wall, etc). Same colors are on the baloons with the names of the main characters.
* Flat no. 13 where all the main action took place the authors of the film called "Fairy tale" ("see film bonus materials") and the walls inside are covered with "magic things".
* The date on the cracker (photo of which appeared in the bonus materials for the film) is 24.12.2006. It may be a possibly reference that the film action is set on the night before Christmas, not New Year's Eve.
