Ilir Meta (born
March 24, 1969in Skrapar, Albania) was the prime minister of Albaniafrom 29 October 1999to 22 February 2002, replacing Pandeli Majkoin this position. Before he was the leader of Euro-socialists (FRESSH) in Albania. In 2003 he served as the Foreign Minister and vice prime minister of Albania. In 2004 he quit the Socialist Party of Albania, and created his own political party, the Socialist Movement for Integration.
