Leith Walk

Leith Walk

Leith Walk is one of the longest streets in Edinburgh, Scotland. It stretches from The Foot Of Leith Walk at the junction of Great Junction Street and Constitution Street to the junction with London Road, it then continues as Leith Street to the east end of Princes Street.

Leith Walk has been around for over 180 years. Around the early 19th century, buildings were developed and slowly it became a vein in Edinburgh's industry. Today Leith Walk is seen as an icon for Leith and most of Edinburgh. It hosts many interesting features, including The Foot Of The Walk, The Omni Centre, St. James Centre and Elm Row. Half way down Leith Walk the Boundary Bar supposedly marks the historical border between Leith and Edinburgh.

Leith Walk will be on part of the new Edinburgh tram network which is scheduled to open in 2011Fact|date=April 2008.
