Mirwaiz Maulvi Farooq

Mirwaiz Molvi Farooq was the Mirwaiz of his time in Kashmir and chairman of the Awami Action Committee , a coalition of disparate political parties in Jammu and Kashmir that wish independence under Islamic Conditions for the state of Jammu and Kashmir.

Farooq was assassinated in 1990 by unknown sponsored terrorists . After his assassination his son Mirwaiz Mohammad Umar Farooq took over his place.
