Manchar (Marathi: मंचर) is a census town in Ambegaon taluka of Pune district in the Indian state of Maharashtra.

Manchar is located at 19°00′N 73°56′E / 19.0°N 73.93°E / 19.0; 73.93[1]. It has an average elevation of 682 metres (2237 feet).

Demographics

As of 2001 India census[2], Manchar had a population of 13,793. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Manchar has an average literacy rate of 72%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 77%, and female literacy is 66%. In Manchar, 13% of the population is under 6 years of age.
