Jeff Trachta

Jeff Trachta (b. October 6, 1960 in Staten Island, New York) is an American actor, recording artist, comedian, and Las Vegas headliner. Trachta’s big break in Hollywood was as the heartthrob soap star “Thorne Forrester” on the hit CBS show The Bold & The Beautiful. Trachta held the role for eight years, garnering a fan base that circles the world.

During his time on the show, Trachta was able to showcase his talents as a singer, which led to an exciting international recording career. Trachta’s debut album Bold and Beautiful Duets, with Bobbie Eakes, soared to the top of the European charts within one month of its release. “Duets” was the first of his three albums, all of which have achieved triple platinum sales worldwide. Trachta has performed sold-out concerts in stadiums and arenas around the world including Holland, Switzerland, Italy, India, Finland, Germany, Belgium and South Africa. He is currently working on his fourth album.

Trachta made his Broadway debut starring as Danny Zuko in Tommy Tune’s revival of Grease at the Eugene O’Neill Theatre. He also starred in the award-winning one-man play Agency, which ran for over a year in Los Angeles. Trachta received rave reviews and won the coveted Robby Award and Los Angeles Critic Choice Award for Best Performance in a Solo Comedy Play. The show, which Trachta co-wrote, was produced by Castle Rock Entertainment. Trachta received an Ovation nomination and won the 1998 Dramalogue Award for Best Comedy Performance for his role as Kenny Brewster in the Los Angeles premiere of Three Guys Naked From The Waist Down. The Los Angeles Times states, “Trachta’s Kenny is a subversive, tragicomic tour-de-force. Whether he’s playing a Chihuahua in hysterics, singing a heartfelt ballad, or charting the crackup of a comic genius, Trachta is superb.”

Trachta’s other stage credits include: The Phantom in Phantom Of The Opera, Birdie in Bye, Bye, Birdie with Rue McClanahan, The Dentist in Little Shop of Horrors, Andy in Love Letters, Prince Charming in Cinderella, with television legends Steve Allen, Jayne Meadows and Rose Marie, Mr. Newman’s father in the world premiere of The Education of Randy Newman and Joseph in Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at ArtPark in New York. In the fall of 2000, Trachta performed in a national tour of Nuncrackers playing Father Virgil. Trachta has also played opposite some of the comedic greats of our time, including Bob Hope, Phyllis Diller, Carol Channing, and Robert Klein.

Trachta’s television and film roles include guest appearances on Pamela Anderson Lee’s international hit V.I.P., Here Come The Munsters for FOX Television, Comedy Central’s Strip Mall with Julie Brown, ABC’s Loving as Hunter Belden, Boyce McDonald on One Life To Live also ABC, leading roles as Steve Caldwell in the film Fatal Passion for Royal Oaks Entertainment, and J.J. in the film Do It Up directed by Robby Benson. He also co-produced and starred in the film Interlocked also released as Bold Affair, as well as the feature film Poison for Franchise Pictures. Trachta has also appeared on numerous talk and news shows from LIVE with Regis and Kathy Lee, to Good Morning America and Entertainment Tonight. His hosting credits include The Miss World Pageant among others.

Recently, Trachta headlined at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, with the hit "Jeff Trachta Live!," an inimitable variety show that features his comic genius, inspired impersonations, vocal versatility, and slickly choreographed footwork. From the initial notes of the opening number, a rousing rendition of “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough”—in which he is backed on myriad immense video screens by a choir of 117 gospel singers, all of whom are Trachta in brilliantly conceived costumes and characters—it becomes clear that Jeff Trachta Live! is guaranteed to bring the house down with dynamic impressions and resonating special effects. The production also includes an uproarious homage to boy bands such as *NSYNC as well as a classic TV tribute in which Trachta is transformed into characters from such favorites as Gilligan’s Island, Green Acres and Bewitched. Las Vegas magazine calls the show, "A seamlessly staged comic tour de force."

In 2008, Trachta brought the show to the Spa Resort Casino in Palm Springs, California, making history as the town's first permanent headliner. The show opened to the public September 26, 2008.
