The Alive/Worldwide Tour was a 1996-1997 concert tour by Kiss. It was the first tour with original members Peter Criss and Ace Frehley since their 1979 Dynasty Tour. The tour grossed $143.7 million, making it the most successful tour by Kiss to date.

Some notable shows included: the August 8 show in Cincinnati, Ohio, where a fan threw his fake leg on stage, which all the members signed and handed back to him; the January 22 show in Osaka, Japan where Gene Simmons lost his voice and Paul Stanley had to sing most of his songs; and the April 5 show in Columbus, Georgia where due to health reasons, Peter Criss could not perform and — the group deciding to not cancel the show since the doors were already open — Criss's drum tech Eddie Kanon took the stage in the Criss cat makeup.

The setlists for this tour drew almost exclusively from the bands' 1970s heyday and did not include any songs from their non-makeup era, in fact only one song was included that was even from the 1980s ('Shandi' from Unmasked). The band did this because they believed that since they were touring with their original lineup that they should be faithful to it with the material performed.

Warmup Gig

* 15/06/96 flagicon|United States Irvine Meadows Amphitheater – Irvine, CA

To correct the information listed as Tiger Stadium as the first show with Ace and Peter and even though, this was considered as a "Warm-up Gig," the show at Verizon Wireless Ampitheater in Irvine, California, was indeed the first show of all four members in make up and LOVE GUN costumes. The show which has been indicated as a warm up gig was called KROQ's Wenie Roast and Sing Along which also featured other bands like No Doubt, Korn, 311, Everclear, etc. You can go on their website http://www.kroq.com to see the list of bands from this yearly event. And 58 minutes of the spirited and sometimes, often messed up performance can be found on the bonus disc of KISSOLOGY: VOLUME 3
