Yahya Kemal Beyatlı (b. Ahmed Agâh,
December 2 1884 – d.November 1 1958 ) was a leading Turkish poet and author, as well as a politician.Biography
He was born in
Skopje ,Ottoman Empire , in 1884. He completed his secondary education at "Vefa Lisesi" inIstanbul . He moved toParis ,France in 1903 and educated in the Faculty of Political Sciences. Having spent 9 years in Paris, he returned toIstanbul in 1912. Between the years 1915 and 1923, he worked as a university lecturer.In 1923, he was elected a member of parliament of the newly founded Turkish Republic. Then he made service in
Warsaw andMadrid embassies from 1926 until 1935. Having returned toTurkey , he continued his political career as a member of parliament until 1946.Bibliography
