Colonia Juárez, Chihuahua, MexicoDaniel Leroy Johnson (born 15 December 1946) has been a general authority of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) since April 2006.
Johnson was born in Colonia Juárez, Chihuahua, one of the Mormon colonies in Mexico. From 1966 to 1968, he was a missionary for the LDS Church in the West Mexico Mission of the Church. After his missionary service, he graduated from Brigham Young University.
Before his becoming a general authority, Johnson served as a stake president, bishop, and area seventy in the church. He was the president of the Ecuador Guayaquil North Mission of the church from 1991 to 1994. In addition to Mexico and Ecuador, Johnson has lived in Honduras, Uruguay, Venezuela, Utah, Minnesota, and Texas.
In April 2006, Johnson became a member of the LDS Church's First Quorum of the Seventy. As of the summer of 2008, Johnson has been serving as president of the Caribbean Area of the Church.
